Tokyo Cafe

I treated my sister to late lunch before I sent her off to a place far far away. I watched her as she gobbled it all up. =)

Ibanag Noodles

I've discovered a favorite local bakery near the place where I'm staying. They sell good bread (pandesal) with stuffing (butter, mongo, choco, peanut butter). It's a bit pricey at Php3.00 but it's good enough for me.

Recently, I rode my bike and went there alone just to clear my mind a little. I decided to try the "Ibanag Noodles"

*Pardon the crappy photos again. All I had was my cam phone.

Ibanag noodles - imagine your local mami but filled with lots of fresh pepper corns to give you the super spicy kick. It went well with my butter pandesal and coke. =)

Van Marleys

Before leaving Manila early this year, my colleagues and I did not pass the chance to try out this hole-in-the-wall Dutch resto in QC.

I've found my chest full of food photos plus I've found a way to upload it. However, I'm not in the mood to write now so most of my posts will prolly just be photo essays. Bear with me...

The only way to know if the food is authentic is if authentic-foreign-locals (yes i made it up) dine there as well.

I luuuuurve 'em dutchkins!

yogi berry frozen yogurt

This is prolly the cheapest among the froyos I've tried but it was not that bad. They have varied flavors and it changes per day. They also have a wide selection of toppings.

Jimmy's Satti Haus

Finally able to taste the famous Jimmy's Satti of Zamboanga. According to the locals, Jimmy's satti  is originally from Jolo and now they've expanded their franchise to the neighboring town of Zamboanga to the Zamboanguenos delight.

I specifically requested that we eat at this franchise 'cause it's the only one that is air conditioned.
When ordering, just get the sticks with the meat that you like. I tried all 3 - chicken, beef and liver/blood.

My order - Chicken satti = grilled chicken plus chunks of  "puso" rice drowned in satti sauce. Warning: The spicyness is not for the feint of heart.

I also got the beef sticks. It's quite pricey for Php5.00 but I liked it better than the chicken. I could prolly finish 20 sticks if I only got this and the rice. =P

I forgot whether this is liver or blood. I think it's liver. Anyway, I least liked this. The "meat" was too tough and it was like eating burnt tough stuff.

All in all, I liked this satti experience. It might even become a favorite. =P
